Soft Tissue Release Massage is a variety of techniques including; locking and gliding, fascial stretch, and pnf stretch. These techniques allow the therapist to identify knots and adhesions in the muscle while simultaneously stretching the muscle to restore lost range of motion. Soft tissue release is often complemented with IASTM and cupping. A fantastic treatment for athletes and active workers as soft tissue release will decrease the time it takes to restore function for movement.
Myofascial Decompression works in the decompression of adhesions; reducing inhibition of fluids and nutrient exchange. It is effective in decreasing stiffness and pain, improving tissue health and increasing mobility. This form of therapy stimulates whole-body relaxation, blood oxygenation, and detoxification of metabolic debris in muscle tissue, fascia, and skin.
Hot Stone Massage is a specialty massage where the therapist uses smooth, heated stones as an extension of their own hands, or by placing them on the body. The heat can be both deeply relaxing and help warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work more deeply, more quickly. Hot Stone massage is not appropriate if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, or are on medication that thins your blood. You shouldn't get a hot stone massage if you are pregnant or have a sunburn.
IASTM (instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization) utilizes tools that catch over fibrotic and knotted tissue which identifies restricted areas. The therapist uses the tools to scrape/blade over problematic adhesions and break up scar tissue which the body can eliminate once broken up. IASTM is an non-invasive process that locates and breaks down scar tissue and is commonly used with other soft tissue release techniques.

What if i have a Groupon?
When you book your massage please indicate what promo you are using. You can refference the voucher number or receipt. Credit cards are NEVER charged when booking an appointment, they are used to hold your appointment or incase of late cancellations or no-shows.
What results can I expect?
Immediately following your massage you can expect to feel relief from tension and pain. You may feel relaxed and at ease, lighter and possibly warm all over. You may be a bit sore in the following days -- a soreness similar to how you feel after a thorough workout. As a regular part of your self-care routine, massage therapy can make a difference in your overall health, range of motion, athletic performance, mood, and quality of life.
If you are comfortable removing all of your clothing for the massage, we recommend that you do so. Clothing can get in the way of your therapist’s movements, and may limit their ability to work into certain muscles. Furthermore, we use lotion and other topical balms that we don’t want to get on your clothing. All of our therapists are trained in proper draping protocol. If you are not comfortable taking off your bra, underwear, socks, etc., you are welcome to leave them on. Your therapist can work around those areas.
Should I tip my therapist?
As with many service professions, tipping is not mandatory but always appreciated. The average tip for a one hour service is $10.00-20.00+ and for a ninety minute massage, $20.00-40.00+.
